About my bear product!
All of my One of a Kind (OOAK) teddy bears and animals are 5-way jointed unless otherwise stated in the description. The artisan designed patterns are cut and sewn to create extra-small, small, medium, large, and extra-large sizes of bears. The cost includes the listed price, 6% PA sales tax (if applicable), U.S.P.S. shipping by weight and additional insurance if necessary.
Collectible heirloom quality bears and animals are made from high quality mohair and blend alpaca with woven backing material with using traditional techniques from the early 1900’s. Noses are either hand embroidered or sculpted leather. Eyes are domed plastic button style with white accents. The separate body parts are machine sewn then jointed and hand sewn together and hand embroidered. Paw pads may be made of reversed material, felt, ultra-suede, satin, suede or leather. They are stuffed with polyfil along with a bag of plastic or glass pellets for weight and wear the Kagel name on a metal charm. These animals are recommended for light play only, thus for ages 6 and up. They are surface washable only. Custom orders for glass eyes or enhanced eyes may be accommodated on a limited basis.
Collectible Fur bears from your vintage mink, ermine, fox, and muskrat garments along with coat lining paw pads are 1st evaluated to be sure the quality is adequate to stand up to the transformation into a bear. I cut out the pattern and line the fur material before machine sewing the body parts. Their eyes are either black plastic dome button style, shoe button, or glass with felt and or polymer clay accents. Their noses are either sculpted leather or embroidered. They are stuffed with polyfil along with a bag of plastic or glass pellets for added weight. These bears are recommended for display and very light play only, thus ages 8 and up. These fur bears are dry clean only using the fur method. If using your vintage fur, you may choose the eye or nose design you prefer at the required price.
The synthetic fur and fabric toddler bears, animals, and BearHugg Loveys are made using the same process as my other bears, however, I use plastic safety eyes and non-toxic glue for nose padding under the embroidered noses. The bears and animals are surface washable only due to the type of joint used. The BearHugg loveys are designed to be completely hand-washable and reshaped and lay flat to dry. Both of these are designed for children ages 3 and up. I do not currently create for sale any infant or baby items for children under 3 years of age due to the more stringent guidelines for construction.
